WCU Admission Office – Dallas, Texas

For the WCU Renovation project, we were contracted by MAPP Construction to flatten some critical areas that were to receive hardwood floors. For this project, the owners were removing a large section of the floor between the fifth and sixth floors to install a staircase. The area of the floor/ceiling being removed was to receive hardwood floors so it was right in the middle of the area we were pouring. Eddie Spray, project superintendant, was coordinating with the engineers and contractors to complete the concrete removal and he needed us to complete the floor flattening the morning after he had the demo crews working over night.

Typically when we arrive the next day after major renovation takes place we are cleaning and trying to prep the floor. Typically we ask the contractor to have that work ready for us when we arrive. The team at MAPP pulled a miracle as far as we are concerned. They had people stay ahead of us with cleaning and moving debris so that when our pump arrived, we were able to complete the project in no time. In our email correspondence following the job, Phil Metcalf, the Senior Project Executive from MAPP said, “thank you, it was a pleasure to work with the ACS team!” When we are able to get the support that we got from Phil, Eddie and everyone at MAPP, it is us that should be saying ‘thank you!’
